FIRE PREVENTION
These days the requirements for fire protection have become more and more a necessity rather than just an added system in the prevention of fire.
A Fire Alarm system can be a life saver and give you peace of mind in the situations where people are sleeping in large numbers (such as hotels). |
|
With the introduction of strict fire regulations, it makes the need for a comprehensive system to be designed planned and installed to meet the needs of the premise.
With technology leaping forward these days, the installation has become far easier than the old conventional hardwired sounder and detection circuits, they can be combined on one circuit cutting down the need for two circuits therefore cutting back on material costs.
This will reflect on the final installation price making it more affordable should the need arise for a system to be installed.
Also the introduction of an alternative cable such as FP200 to the conventional mineral insulated copper cable has made the speed of installations easier, with all of this and the previously mentioned technology leap forward it makes the cost of having a system installed far less than you would first imagine.
Different premise require different systems, from a small domestic dwelling to a large office or commercial unit(s).
The need to be able to warn the occupants in time so that they have adequate time to escape to safety is the main reason for the system to be installed, but behind that there are also requirements that may need to be looked at, these are :-
a). Gas supply to the main boilers and associate equipment would be required to be turned off
b). Ventilation units need to be shut down
c). All open doors shut where possible
All of these can be instigated by the main control panel should you require it.
We can also offer a fully comprehensive service and maintenance which will keep your equipment working at its maximum operative range.
ACCESS CONTROL
If there is somewhere to which you do not want specific people to go but need others to be able to gain access then it would normally rely on giving out multiple sets of keys.
Then comes the problem when specific people leave and do not return those keys, what are your options change the locks then issue more keys. |
|
If this relates to more than one door then after a while it becomes expensive this is where the use of access control comes to the fore.
Installing access control to doors only means the changing of codes should specific people leave, or in the case of a larger system the deletion of a entry \ exit device such as a fob or card.
Systems can vary form a single keypad operated lock release system to a system that controls multiple doors and multiple sites.
To be able to lock a door from the comfort of your pc but that door being 200 miles away certainly shows the leaps that have been developed in the technology of access control.
These larger systems, which are computer controlled, also allow you to keep a track on the movement of certain people within the premises and to restrict them from going in certain areas of the building should you so desire.
This can allow for a keyless premise, only allowing certain people into certain areas and at certain times of the day or night.
Photo id can be added to the larger system, showing the person face every time they use their id card to gain access to a certain areas.
Also developed in the technology has been the use of video door entry access control, to be able to see who you are letting in is a great advantage to the safety of either yourself or your employees.
Again certain situations may require more complex installations such as being able to open a door from a distance and being able to see that person at the same instance, this is where video door entry is an added bonus. Central stations can look after this situation whilst you are at home not having to worry about going back to work just to let a delivery driver or certain employee in.
Access control can give you peace of mind, knowing that your premise is only being entered by those authorised to be there, it can also act as a register in the case of a fire should the need arise.
INTRUDER ALARM SYSTEMS
These days alarm systems can vary from the simple single door installation to the large office and commercial installations.
Being able to offer the versatility of these installations has allowed TCI Fire & Security Ltd to grow and give the customers what they need. |
|
Our alarm systems vary from a stand alone system just sounding external bells to the more comprehensive systems where Redcare, Redcare GSM, DualCom and digital communicators are involved giving peace of mind that the local constabulary will be informed should the alarm activate.
An alternative to the above mentioned communicators are the simple but effective speech dialler which will call any one of three numbers alerting the owner that the alarm has activated, the only down side to this unit is that it will not inform the local constabulary that is down to you.
Specific alarms systems can be designed to meet your own personal needs whether you have a single floor unit or a multi site or multi levelled office block. We can install a single main control panel that can control the different levels of your premises using individual floor operated keypads, thus allowing floors to be alarmed should they not be occupied.
With the introduction of DD243 into the Intruder Alarm specifications (courtesy of the insurance companies) it makes setting and un-setting alarms systems more simplified.
Its allows you to set and unset your system using an auxiliary device such as a fob device or key operated lock rather than using the main keypad as before.
Another stipulation now being set down especially by the local constabulary is the requirement for each alarm to be confirmed, this in a basic description is where more than one alarm device is triggered within the premises giving confirmation that there is a genuine alarm activation and not just a false alarm from one individual device.
Should the need arise that key holder facilities are required and nobody within the company or household wants that responsibility then TCI can provide an approved service to take care of this. Keys from the premise are held in secure safe and only removed should the need require, we would then attend site, deal with the situation and return the keys to the safe. At no time are anymore than one set of keys carried in the vehicle.
Annual maintenance can also an effective tool to keeping the alarm system in correct working order.
We are able to offer bi annual servicing, incorporating the power supplies, batteries and all ancillary devices associated with the intruder alarm system, giving you peace of mind that the system installed is working 100% all of the time.
CCTV
With the introduction of every day technology into the growing world of CCTV it has only helped to develop the reproduction and recording
quality available.
Cameras have become smaller, recording equipment more versatile in respect that now recordings can now be down loaded to dvds and hard drives. Recording to video tapes is still available but is fast being out sold by the use of hard drives. |
|
TCI Fire & Security Ltd can offer you the service and quality to match your requirements and budget, should you need a single unit being shown on a monitor to a complete site or even a remote site that can be accessed via a standard pstn phone line.
Over the years we have had the need to install cameras in various positions and for various reasons, such as checking number plates on moving vehicles to installing covert units to record details on membership cards when clients enter a premises.
Cameras can come in all shapes and sizes and can match the surroundings to which they are to be installed, such as an ornate unit to match in with an older surroundings ( listed buildings etc)
Or a vandal proof unit in area where attack may be possible. There are many different units that can be used to meet the needs of the applications required.
These days the 360 degree dome units are being installed in place of the old and outdated PTZ units ( pan, tilt & zoom),these units were slow in there response where as the domes are quick and far more versatile to the customers needs. Dome cameras can be either black & white or colour and in some cases both, the last case being a camera that during daylight the camera is colour but once the light goes it reverts to a black & white picture giving the best quality available at all times.
Various control equipment for the camera systems has also been updated these days being able to view various combinations of picture rather than just one image, making security more effective being able to view a greater area at any one single time.
As well as the main installation equipment mentioned in the previous paragraphs, we are also able to offer you the installation of the control desks and monitor display units. This can vary from a single unit to a complete control room, no installation too small.
TCI Fire & Security Ltd offer service and maintenance contracts on either existing systems (subject to survey) or newly installed systems, this is an effective tool in the quality of the recording of the installation.
CCTV cont…
Keeping the cameras clean and with clear vision can be the difference between a prosecution and not, if you cannot make out the number plate or criminals face what is the point in having the state of the art recording equipment.
These days it is a requirement by law that all cctv systems be licensed under the data protection act. This is also needed even if you are not recording the images, basically anything seen on screen by yourself or a qualified person can be used in evidence against the accused, so in theory you are recording it visually.
There are also various aspects to the law which have to be adhered to and a few of those can be explained in the following statement:-
1.
Any person viewing the images must be of a qualified nature (ie security guard etc)
2. The image shown on a monitor which is in a public area must only show an image to which the public are able to see (ie the door to which they have just come through is the most commonly used in department store etc)
3. Any images viewed by the qualified staff can not be seen by any other persons that work within the same environment (ie office or shop)
4. Notification must be placed around the shop or office or building to alert the public to the presence of cctv and also to the reasons of its installation (ie for the safety of the public or for the security of the building)
5. The above notification must also contain the name of the owner of the system and the telephone number that a qualified person can be contacted on in respect to the cctv, it will also contain the name of the company responsible for the maintenance of the installation.
These are just a few areas within the data protection area that have to be covered and sadly are commonly over looked, let TCI Fire & Security Ltd take care of this for you.
